Meet Anna
Anna has worked extensively in Fashion for over 15 years. She started her career working at the Kitson boutique in BH while in college and later went on to work for Chanel, in both LA and New York. She has worked with the iconic luxury house for over a decade in all (facets/ arenas including ready-to-wear, handbags, accessories, merchandising and buying. Fashion has always been a pivotal part of self expression and a part of her core. She sees fashion as way to show the world who you want to be without saying a word. It was always a dream for Anna to start her own clothing line. But it wasn’t until the birth of her son Luca that truly inspired her to bring Luca and Charlize to life and make that dream a reality!
Meet Ilona
She's a mom who's been around the block --Weaving together her two greatest passions: the world of design and the joys of motherhood. Ilona's development of style sense began long before she became a mother. However, the true transformation in Ilona's life began with the arrival of her two beautiful children, Kyle and brand namesake Charlize. Finding that perfect balance between chic and comfortable. In Ilona's world, if you feel good you are more likely to look good. Ilona's fundamentals read as 20+ years producing apparel by hand from sewing to patternmaking. Her house echoes with laughter, paws padding on the floor, and the heartwarming presence of her family.

Palisades Pigment Dye Fabric
At Luca and Charlize, we specialize in crafting premium hoodies, crewnecks, and joggers using Pigment Garment Dye fabric, which we enhance with an enzyme wash process. This meticulous technique involves applying pigments directly onto the fabric's surface, followed by a special enzyme wash treatment. The enzyme wash adds an extra dimension to our fabric, resulting in a uniquely soft and worn-in feel. This process gently breaks down the fibers, creating subtle variations in color and texture that give each garment a distinctive vintage-inspired aesthetic. Not only does the enzyme wash process enhance the look and feel of our fabric, but it also contributes to its durability. By pre-treating the fabric with enzymes, we ensure that our hoodies, crewnecks, and joggers maintain their vibrant colors and soft texture wash after wash.
In essence, our use of Pigment Garment Dye fabric, combined with the enzyme wash process, results in garments that stand out with rich colors, unique textures, and enduring quality. With a focus on craftsmanship and innovation, we offer apparel that combines style, comfort, and longevity. Our own special mixture of fabric is comprised of the perfect balance of 96% Organic Cotton and 4% Elastane Spandex together in a French terry.
Laurel Knit Interlock Fabric
At Luca and Charlize, we've developed our own unique kind of interlock fabric called Laurel Knit Interlock Fabric. This special fabric is crafted through a meticulous process of interlocking two sets of yarns in a 1x1 rib formation, resulting in a dense and tightly woven material.
Laurel is made in-house using a 60% Organic Cotton 35% Polyester 5% Elastine Spandex in the aforementioned interlock weave, which we find best binds the materials together. Laurel Knit Interlock Fabric offers several distinct advantages. Firstly, its double-knit construction ensures exceptional durability, making our garments resistant to unraveling or fraying even after frequent wear and laundering. This means that our clothing maintains its shape and appearance over time, reflecting our commitment to quality craftsmanship. Moreover, it provides a luxurious feel against the skin. The smooth and even surface created by the interlocking weave results in a fabric that is exceptionally soft and comfortable, feeling like a second skin. This makes it ideal for wearing close to the body and layering, especially during late spring when a lightweight yet cozy layer is desired.
In addition to its durability and softness, Laurel Knit offers superior breathability and moisture management. The tight weave allows for enhanced airflow, while the double-layered construction helps to wick away moisture from the skin, keeping our customers cool and dry throughout the day.
